Intended purpose

How does the orthosis work?
As a consequence of the tension in the material and the support from the back splint, the trunk is elevated. The trunk musculature is activated and humpback is reduced. The muscles are unconsciously strengthened, which increases mobility and reduces pain.

How often and when should I wear the orthosis?
Your doctor will specify how often you have to wear the orthosis. While you are getting used to the orthosis (in the first two weeks), you should wear it for longer and longer periods. Depending on your state of health, it may be enough to wear it for only 30 min at a time. The period of wear can then be gradually increased. As your muscles get stronger, you may feel mild or moderate cramp. Once your strength has increased, the cramp slowly decreases, till it has totally disappeared. The cramp is a sign that the orthosis is working! You must take the orthosis off at night. During extended resting periods or when you are sitting, you can simply remove the splint from the back pocket, without having to remove the body. Please contact your doctor if you suffer from continuous muscle pain, in spite of using the orthosis properly.

Goal setting

Your orthopaedics dealer has premoulded the splint. Push the splint into the back pocket. The ribs must point outwards. The narrower end is then on top. If you find it easier, the splint can be pushed in at the end.
Open the zip with the hooks in front.
Get into the body. First close the hooks and then the zip.
If necessary, the length of the body can be adjusted with the hooks on the carrier and the fastener in the gusset.
It may be necessary to check the body and splint from time to time. Please get your orthopaedics dealer to do this for you.
